Andy Haley

The South West is Andy’s back yard and he’s been on the bouldering scene here for almost a decade. One of the few climbers putting up new, hard boulder lines in the area, Andy is also well accomplished in other climbing disciplines like sport, DWS and more recently trad climbing.

“I’ve been lucky enough to go to many world class areas in Europe, such as Font, Cresciano, Magic Wood, Albarracin, Sintra and the Verdon. But Rocklands, South Africa has to be my favourite trip.” However when asked his favourite ascents Andy’s list is almost exclusively Devon based; Patpence Ha’penny 8b, Sacre Coeur E2 5c, The Revolution is Coming 8A, Puppy Onsight 6b.

Andy has an extensive ‘to do’ list and wishes to improve his crack climbing.

Ruby Petch

Ruby is one of the strongest boulderers in the South West and for the last few years has been climbing mostly on the rugged North Devon coast. Previously Ruby competed regionally and nationally in youth comps but these days she prefers outdoor bouldering.

Ruby has a tick list to make you wince, having sent many local lines which most of us can only dream about. She has also put up some of her own including ‘The Eye of the Storm’ 7B and ‘Pie Consumption’ 7A. We’re so excited to support Ruby on her journey.

Harrison Lake

Harri’s climbing trajectory is steep. Only 5 years in rock shoes and he has already ticked two E7 trad lines on Dartmoor (Bobangi and La Crème Noir) and is currently working on what could be Dartmoor’s first E8!

Also a strong sport climber and boulderer, whilst studying Physics and working at The Climbing Hangar, Plymouth; Harrison is one to watch and we’re very glad to be supporting him.

Georgia Browne

Georgia has a deep love and enthusiasm for climbing and has made it a central aspect of her life. Working in two Climbing Academy centres (The Mothership and The Church) she is a pillar of the Bristol scene. Keen to try all of climbing’s disciplines Georgia has high aspirations for the future.

Tom Rickard

Tom has climbing in his blood - Raised by an accomplished trad climber he forged his own path as part of the Bristol youth team, showing great promise and determination. With his sport climbing pushing into the 7s Tom’s current focus is fluidity and a deep understanding of body movements.

Ollie Jerrett

Ollie is a great guy to have on your team. They know this well at The Climbing Hangar - Plymouth where OJ is a much valued coach and route setter. O.J. has spent much of his 8 year climbing career on the Devonshire crags but has also travelled extensively in the UK and abroad to France, Spain and South Africa. Ollie is a strong boulderer having a very impressive tick list, up to F7C+ / V10. He’s not too shabby on sport either having, to date, climbed f8a+. One of Ollie’s personal triumphs was sending ‘Caroline’ in Rocklands, SA, a legendary line. We’re very excited to have Ollie join the Arête team. (He’s looking very strong this year, so watch this space..)
